Log Play House

I just found this old gem in my picture files. It looks like Ryan, Melia, Candace, and Allison. This must be around 1990-1991.

The Evil Squirrel returns

Panguitch is a pretty little town.
Just returned from a great trip to the cabin to see the fall colors. It was beautiful! A little on the cold side but so pretty.

This picture just doesn't do it justice. Maybe it was the photographer.

Again it was a great trip except for the night we were terrorized by a flying squirrel. First I heard it in the attic and never dreamed it could get in the cabin, but it did and proceeded to jump on the bed where Dennis was sleeping. That woke him up! I grabbed mom's old cane and chased him around the cabin while Dennis got the door propped open so he could run out. But he hit all the high spots in the cabin first, the top of the book shelves and the drapes. Boy could he move fast. I think he was very hungry because once we got him out, he tried it again and this time he knew just how to get in. After getting him out again, we decided to catch him at it the 3rd time and taped up a garbage bag to the hole. I guess that discouraged him because he didn't come back. That was our great adventure.

Dana Cabin Trip 2009

Auntie Ruth was popular while giving quitar lessons. Amazing what small children can so easily pic up.

Grandpa Dana's favorite activity is taking the little ones riding on the quad.

Our cabin trips always start with getting Jeff's motorbike out of the shed and some 28 years later, it always runs. It took a little encouragement this year but was up and running and it was Megan's turn to learn how to ride.
The zipline is also a real favorite and we have most of the kids trained to get themselves on and off. It has provided many hours of entertainment for most of them.

A real highlight of this years trip was having Uncle Scott there to teach kids how to fish. Then a real treat when he cooked them up for dinner. Chase and Grandpa stick pulling. Girls adoration society. Aaron took over for Spencer this year. Benny's first cabin trip, he loved trying to eat the dirt, grass and sticks. Speaking of sticks, those are the girl's fort. We did a regular tick check after our experience last year. We always do projects or crafts. Grandma helped the Dana girls with their stitching. Dionne brought scrabble tile necklaces again and they were still a hit. So glad Melia and family could come so far but we missed Allen and Dennis L.

Young Family Cabin

Welcome, I hope all of you enjoy the blog. We as the original Young family want to invite you to post and add pictures to our blog so that we can all share the memories of our cabin trips. The calendar was established to allow you to see when your family has use of the cabin. Jim, Joan, Bill & Dottie each have weeks starting on Sunday at 2 p.m. and lasting until then of the following week. We will be posting cabin rules soon and expect anyone using the cabin to abide by the rules to make it enjoyable for everyone.

As always, our love to Grandpa and Grandma Young for building such a great legacy for us all to enjoy.
